Nicor ​​Gas, Operation Warm hands out 252 winter coats to students at Harvey’s Whittier Elementary – CBS Chicago


HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) – Nicor ​​Gas and the nonprofit organization Operation Warm handed out 252 coats to students at Whittier Elementary School last Friday.

Nicor ​​and Operation Warm say they have been handing out more than 1,700 new winter coats to students at qualified schools in northern Illinois since December as part of its Warm homes, warmer hearts campaign.

As part of the campaign, Nicor ​​is donating a brand new winter coat to a child in need of every energy-saving set ordered by customers in October last year through the Energy Efficiency Program.

Operation Warm is a national non-profit organization founded in 1998 and has delivered more than 4 million coats across America with its partners.
