Basic Purpose:

Reporting to the Vice President of Engagement and Student Experience, the Associate Vice President of Student Services provides College-wide leadership to strategically guide, develop and implement integrated student service/support functions to lead students from Admissions through Advising to their transfer educational goals. The Associate Vice President of Student Services also has lead responsibility for setting the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management plan, overseeing its successful development and execution, as well as monitoring and assessment to ensure the College meets its enrollment and programs goals in support of the strategic plan. The Associate Vice President of Student Services will build strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholder partners to achieve both student success and enrollment goals. The Associate Vice President of Student Services will work collaboratively and in coordination with the Vice President of Engagement and Student Experience, along with College leadership team members and colleagues, to deliver positive student success and enrollment outcomes for the College.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategically guide and develop integrated student services functions to lead students from Admissions through to completion; strategically guide and ensure contribution to College’s Student Success goals and objectives though oversight/management of the Dean of Students and related/supporting teams, Dean of Holistic Support programs and related/supporting teams, and the Executive Director of Enrollment Services
  • Create College-wide Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan and oversee its successful execution, including the monitoring and assessment of initiatives to ensure the College meets its enrollment goals/targets in support of the strategic plan. Includes leading efforts with various College leadership team members and colleagues to develop and oversee implementation of collaborative enrollment management initiatives with units including, but not limited to Academic Affairs, West Campus, Workforce Development Athletics, Virtual Campus, Culinary Arts Institute, Adult Learner Initiatives, International Programs, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, and the other Student Services teams to develop data-enabled core enrollment management strategies and initiatives that meet enrollment goals and make Montgomery County Community College a destination across the region.
  • Ensure that all of the Enrollment Management unit’s teams meet individual and team recruitment and enrollment targets. Prioritize and guide overall enrollment management activities to align with achieving the College’s enrollment management targets and goals in support of the strategic plan
  • Identify, build and support relationships with public and private community organizations, community leaders, and members of professional organizations to help facilitate and grow enrollment opportunities.
  • Provide strategic support for the development and implementation of both Early College and Workforce Development programs to build strong pathways for matriculation to the College’s associate degree programs for these students.
  • Lead and champion student success initiatives and the use of College-wide technology-enabled systems to align with and support successful enrollment outcomes.
  • Structure and lead on-going assessment of enrollment management activities to ensure that recruitment, enrollment and retention targets are met each semester.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  1. Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • Master’s degree in higher education or business field required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a leadership and/or senior management position with increasing responsibilities for recruitment, enrollment and/or retention required
  • Demonstrated results in strategic enrollment management, predictive modeling, marketing and reporting statistical data
  • Knowledge of comprehensive student databases, CRM systems and  information systems as well as familiarity with federal, state, and intuitional aid programs and regulations
  • Extensive experience in a student services environment, and a strong commitment to customer service with students, colleagues, and community partners
  • Experienced in the preparation and implementation of a divisional budget
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team through change
  • Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
