Puts her foot down. Jamie Lynn Spears claimed she did not want to start drama with sister Britney Spears while arguing over her forthcoming memoir.

That Sweet Magnolia star, 30, wrote a lengthy statement after pop star, 40, addressed Jamie Lynn’s claims about their relationship and her book, Things I should have said, Thursday, January 13th.

“Last thing I want to do is this, but here we are … It’s hard to see these posts that I know the world feels too. I just wish her well,” the former Nickelodeon actress wrote about his big sister on Friday, January 14th. “Brit, I’m always here, you know behind the scenes that I’ve always been here. It’s become exhausting when conversations and text messages we have in private do not match what you post on social media. I know , you go through a lot, and I will never diminish that, but I can not diminish myself either. ”

Jamie Lynn claimed the “Toxic” singer’s reaction was “absolutely not the truth”, adding: “Now it’s getting harder for me to rationalize towards my eldest daughter [Maddie] why our family keeps getting death threats as a result of their aunt’s vague and accusing remarks, especially when we know she could tell the truth and put an end to it all in a second if she wanted to. ”

That Zoey 101 alum opened up about where she stands with Britney, who was released from her 13-year-old conservatory in November 2021, during an emotional meeting with Good morning America Wednesday, January 12th.

“That love is still there, 100 percent. I love my sister, ”she said through tears. “I have only loved and supported her and done what is right about her, and she knows it. So I do not know why we are in this position right now.… I have always been my sister’s greatest support, so when she had need help, I set ways to do it. ”

After Britney publicly spoke about her conservatory during a June 2021 court hearing, fans were quick to criticize Jamie Lynn for seemingly remaining silent on the issue. On Wednesday, the actress claimed she “went out of my way to ensure it [Britney] had the contacts she needed ”to put an end to her restrictive conservatory, which prevented her from making her own decisions about her health and her finances.

That Glee alum shot back at Jamie Lynn’s statements via Twitter a day after the interview was posted claiming that her sister “was never around me 15 years ago at the time … so why are they talking about it at all unless she wants to sell a book at my expense ??? REALLY ?? “

Britney wrote: “She never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to her !!!… But look, I’ve always been the greatest person. They all had to DO IT and PLAY ME, and I always sat there and took it But look, now it’s a joke… the last thing I would ever do is ask for what was just given to her !!! ”

The Grammy winner’s younger sister told fans on Friday that “after a lifetime where she had been silent”, she was ready to “set the record herself to protect my and my family’s well-being.” Jamie Lynn shares Maddie, 13, with ex Casey Aldridge and Ivey, 3, with husband Jamie Watson.

“That being said, I hate to burst my sister’s bubble, but my book is not about her,” the actress continued. “I can not avoid that I was also born as Spears, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I have worked hard since I was a teenager, and I have built my career despite the fact that I was just someone’s little sister. ”

As they tensed back and forth making headlines, Jamie Lynn claimed that “there are no pages” for fans to choose.

“I do not want drama,” she concluded. “But I speak my truth to heal my traumas so I can close this chapter and move on, and I wish my sister could do the same. No matter what comes, I will always love my big sister and be here for “It’s time to put an end to the unhealthy chaos that has plagued my life for so long.”
