Bobby Lashley says he wanted out of the WWE Day 1 Main Event

Bobby Lashley spoke recently WWE’s After The Bell around Day 1 change of the main event. Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled to go one on one with Roman Reigns at the event. However, due to the tribe chief testing positive for COVID-19, changes were made. Lashley admitted that when that happened, he wanted out of the fight.

“The first thing I said was that I said, ‘get me out of the fight,’” he admitted. “I said, ‘it’s a fatal 4-way me and MVP can do something in advance, get me out of the fight.’ At first people thought, ‘what? Are you afraid of him?’ No, I’m not afraid of him, it’s a fight where exactly what happened happened.

“He beat someone else and got the title,” Lashley said. “So basically he can say he beat me, Seth, Big E & Kevin not? I mean the fight is on five people and I thought, ‘this is not how it goes, get me out of the fight ‘. And they said,’ no, no, you have to stay in the fight, ‘and I was like,’ okay ‘.

Bobby Lashley admitted that many people were not happy that Brock Lesnar was added to the match. After first wishing out of the match, however, Lashley decided to make a statement. That was what he would continue to do, jumping Brock through the barricade and dominating the Beast every time they interacted during the meeting.

“There were a lot of people who were not happy about it,” he said. “But I saw it as ‘first, get me out of the fight, but if I stay in the fight, then interactions we have with Brock, I have to make a statement.’
