The USF Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Training Institute Education Center (USF OTIEC) supports
OSHA’s training mission to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by providing training on workplace hazard
recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention. The Education Center is with the College of Public Health (COPH). The goal of COPH is to
improve workplace safety and health through education. This position will report to the USF OTIEC Program Director.


The Academic Services Administrator is responsible for the administration of the USF OTIEC program, which include
planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional material. This position also performs administrative functions directly related to
courses offered by the OTIEC.


Responsible for curriculum development and maintenance: Work
with USF OTIEC’s management, staff, and instructors to create curriculum design standards and methodologies based on innovative pedagogies
and best practices that result in high quality teaching and learning experiences. Provides expertise on effective assessment methodology and
direct measures of student learning, data analysis, and reporting for continuous improvement. Ensure all courses curriculum and revisions
follow OSHA standards and ensure consistent application and maintenance of those standards and methodologies for all courses offered at the
OTIEC. Work with subject matter experts to ensure application of curriculum development philosophy and understanding of USF OTIEC culture
and student demographics.

Continues RESP_001:
Support new course development and revision and assist with development and
implementation of practical support materials. Work with the program systems analyst to create and maintain templates for program, course,
and assessment development. Ensure that appropriate documentation supporting course offerings exists including, but not limited to, master
course frameworks, instructor’s guides and course outline. Provides direction and coordination for USF OTIEC management, instructors, and
staff on curriculum development/revisions. Conduct surveys to gauge the effectiveness of the curriculum. Research new teaching methods.
Attend education conferences.

Responsible for OSHA Training: Use current technology (Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Access, Canvas
Learning Management System (LMS), and ability to learn new applications to deliver training and education to adults in occupational safety
and health. Exercise good judgment with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsible for staying updated on OSHA policies: Regularly
review OSHA’s policies/procedures and standards via web sites, written materials, attending conferences/meetings, etc. Draft and propose
revisions once the need for a change is identified. Collaborate with the management to identify the outdated information, and replace it
with the correct content. Adjust course curriculum and standard operating procedures to changed policies/procedures and standards. Ensure
changes align with the missions of the College of Public, USF OTIEC, and OSHA.

Responsible for promoting process improvement: Analyze
OTIEC’s educational process and determine how to improve it continuously and economically. Ability to use process improvement tools such as
problem-solving methodology, brainstorming, mapping, flowcharting, field analysis, statistical process control, check sheets, or bar

  • This position requires a Master’s degree in education or a field of
    study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor’s degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of safety and health work
    experience within construction, maritime, and/or general industries.
