Andrew Burnap takes a break from the lights on Broadway and is on his way to the cinema. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the winner of the Tony Award will join the cast in Disney’s live-action remake of its beloved 1938 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. While it is reported that Burnap will star as the male lead in the film, he will not portray Huntsman or the Prince. Instead, Burnap will step into the shoes of a whole new character created for the film. Burnap will join Marc Webb-structed musical re-recording with previously announced actresses, Rachel Zegler, in the role of Snow White, and Gal Gadot, as the evil queen.
As a perfect addition to the cast, Burnap won a Tony Award for Leading Role in a Play for his performance in 2021 in That Inheritance. The story, which centers on the life of a gay couple living in New York during the generation following the AIDS epidemic, is written by Matthew Lopez and directed by Stephen Daldry. Burnap got its professional start at New York’s legendary Delacorte Theater and performed in the ensemble of the 2014 production of william Shakespeare‘s King Lear before moving on to the lead role as Troilus during the theatre’s 2016 staging of Troilus and Cressida. While in New York, he also starred in the play This day ahead before heading to the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles to head inside The legend of Georgia McBride.
While Burnap’s role in this live-action remake will mark the actor’s first big name feature, he has previously landed roles in the indie films Spare parts Room and Leader. He will also appear in the upcoming Hulu series, Under heaven’s banner, which will be based on Jon Krakauer‘s novel of the same name that tells the story of murder within the LDS faith. He will also contribute to Jared Leto in the Apple TV + series, We went down, which will be an adaptation of the podcast of the same name, focusing on the rapid rise and fall of WeWork.
We can not wait to see Burnap appear in this new version Snow white, which will contain songs written by La La Land and Broadways Dear Evan Hansen copywriters Benj Pasek and Justin paul. With Tony Award-winning acting chops and a beautiful voice, Burnap will be the perfect addition to Disney’s latest live-action remake. There is currently no release date yet for this live-action remake.
But which monster does she want to play?
