Manchester City are close to selling Ferran Torres to Barcelona – BoilingNews

Super Deporte claim that Manchester City are close to accepting Ferran Torres’ exit to Barcelona within the ‘last hours’. It is believed that the two parties are approaching an agreement on a transfer fee.

Torres, 21, has not played for Manchester City since a Carabao Cup victory over Wycombe. A broken foot has seen the Spanish national team player on the sidelines for the past two months – and he could even have played his last game.

This is because a move to Barcelona is at stake. The report claims that Torres and Barcelona have had an oral agreement for some time now and that a fee to Torres is close to being agreed.

City will have a fee of 42.5 million pounds – and in the ‘last hours’ the two parties are getting closer to reaching an agreement. Negotiations are actually under way as to how this fee will be paid – and over what kind of time scale.

Barcelona also need to free up some space on their salary costs, but an agreement is approaching and City are ready to sanction his sale. It comes after Torres had scored 16 goals in 43 games for Manchester City.

Torres to Barcelona: Manchester City can make a mistake

Torres is underrated. When City lacked a striker other than Gabriel Jesus, the Spanish national team player scored on a regular basis – even by three in seven games this season.

At just 21 years old, he is a real talent. A prodigy, actually. His 12 goals in 22 Spanish internationals are already proof of that. So City is making a mistake? Selling him for just over £ 40 million to Barcelona? Undoubtedly.
