Arrest made after woman injured in unprovoked attack in Southeast DC

A man has been arrested after an attack in southeastern DC involving a mother and her 5-year-old child.

Emily Lebowitz says she was pushed from behind around 5:30 p.m. on December 6 at block 600 of Pennsylvania Ave SE. Lebowitz fell forward and hit the sidewalk with her teeth.

DC police say they arrested Roman Strickland, 30, of northeastern DC and charged him with aggravated assault.

FOX 5 spoke to Lebowitz’s husband who says his wife left the children’s classroom with their 5-year-old when the attack happened.
